About Emma

I’m Emma (Gallagher) O’Connor, a Registered Dietitian and yoga teacher living in Lakewood, Colorado with my husband Brendan and our pup Otis.

I grew up in a small town outside of Boston, Massachusetts. I attended the University of Colorado, Boulder, for my undergraduate degree (Go Buffs!) before returning to Boston to complete my master’s degree and dietetic internship at Boston University.

Since completing my masters, I have worked across all levels of care as a clinical dietitian (24-hour care, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient), and have had the privilege of helping hundreds of adolescents & young men and women create better relationships with their bodies and with food.

In addition to being a registered dietitian, I am also a certified yoga teacher, having completed my 200-hour YTT through Rooted Heart Yoga in Denver in May 2024. My yoga journey began in college, initially focused on the physical practice of asana. However, over the past five years, I’ve come to understand the profound impact yoga has on mental health. Through a daily meditation practice and a deeper exploration of yogic philosophy, I’ve cultivated a more meaningful connection with myself and a new perspective on the world.

Yoga teaches us to be present—the only place where life truly exists. It fosters embodiment, something that eating disorders and diet culture often take away by disconnecting us from our bodies and diminishing interoceptive awareness. Yoga, on the other hand, guides us back home—to feeling, moving, and caring for ourselves with intention. Whether you’re taking the first steps toward making peace with your body or seeking to integrate yogic philosophy into eating disorder recovery, I am here to support you on that journey.
